However, there is more to this car as we are about to find out.

This build is something very special indeed and deserves a closer inspection, the first thing that you notice is the colour, and usually such a green would not be given a second glance. However, clearly this is where the builder here has vision, because the colour actually grows on you to extent that you suddenly feel comfortable with it and it works especially well with those lambo style doors and other body features.

The builder has put in so much time and effort on this project that hardly no part or section has been left untouched, which is clearly, why this car stands out so much, it is truly a wonderful machine that effectively stands alone from other Integras out there, you could say that it is unique and that would be correct. Which is what we are looking at here, although this car is a shadow of its original self, due to the extensive work?

You have to admire anyone who takes on a project, no matter how they go about it or the money and time they are willing to spend on the project. The simple fact is that these people have the vision of being able to see what the car would look like before any work is even started. Being dark in colour this Acura Integra demonstrates just a how well a car look with a bit of work and a lot of planning.

Already this car is around thirteen years old, this would normally mean the end of days for a standard car, but not here, as this car has much more in the tank to offer too. The way that this design has used dark grey and black makes for a smooth design even though the builder has improved the exterior with some minor changes at the front end and by losing the door handles. This is a project of transformation as well as modification, taking a fairly ordinary family car and turning it into a seriously cool sports sedan.

The problem here is that Jason Richardson has done a brilliant job, there is nothing not to like about the finished car and in the process, and he makes it look too easy. But as we all know the car may look great, but the planning and work that has gone into it would have been staggering, we don’t know how long this project has taken to complete, it sure wasn’t a rush job.

The finished car looks better now than it probably did as rolled off the production line, it has been completely transformed from a family run around to sports sedan. Even those custom powder coated wheels do not look out of place, who would have thought that! With the car completed it is now a Honda Accord Euro R, the Acura TSX has gone and for the better, because the car now is so much better in looks and performance.

To find the origins of the NSX you would have to go back to the mid 1980’s. This was when Honda commissioned the Italian based design house Pininfarina to come up with a design for a new sports car that could take on the top sports cars from Europe. This was the HP-X (Honda Pininfarina Xperimental) but this evolved into the NS-X (New Sportscar eXperimental) prototype that we know of as being the Acura or Honda NSX.

Considering its heritage, it is safe to say that there surely is not much that can be done to such a car, how can you modify a high performance sports car, well that would be simple, you make it better by enhancing the looks and tightening up performance. You have to remember that this is still a production car and therefore has room for adjustments.

The builder in this case, has upgraded the exhaust system, intakes and introduced high performance spark plugs. With a fresh set of wheel and tyres, that leaves only the body to get some treatment. Here the builder has opted for a body kit made from carbon fibre; this includes a new diffuser and mirrors. Finally the front and rear lights are changed to complete the build. So there you have it, whatever the car there is always room for improvement, no matter how small.

The first that you notice about this car apart from the bright red paint work is the way that the body hugs the ground the but even with the body styling you can still see what make and model this car is which is testament to the builders vision and skills. However, it is much more than that, a good import builder has vision and that can be seen here with this car.

The original Acura RSX Type-S would have been producing slightly less than 200 HP, but following the work on this model the car is now giving off around 285 HP, not much improvement you may think. yet the car has been stripped down with anything that is there for convenience and style being thrown on bin, so now this is very light car powered by almost 300 HP and that sounds good to me.

It would have been easy to go with the easy option and use a different model, one that comes with higher specs this would mean that the project would require less work and therefore would have been an easier build. but whoever said that being an import builder or project manager was going to be easy, if was then everyone would be doing it and we would be missing out on special cars such as this one demonstrates.

The car came in two body choices, the standard four door saloon or the sportier looking three door hatchback and this is model that we are looking at today. There was as with most Japanese motors at the time a wide range of power units to choose from, the 1.6 litre, 1.7 litre and the 1.8 litre as fitted to this modified car, as well as the choice of a five speed manual or four speed automatic gear box.

Out of all the cars to work with the Acura Integra has to be one of the easiest for there are so many variation of parts to choose from, as well as there being a huge amount of spares to be found at various junk yards around the country. For the builder this is car heaven, no waiting and no ordering just get in there to get what you need.

As for this car, looking at it as it stands almost twenty years on from new you have to wonder if this could be the one of the best Acura Integra’s in the US or even the world.
