The body has been given the full Job Design treatment, in fact there are not many firms providing body kits for the SC430. clearly they do not see the potential in building such a wonderful car either, but it seems that import builders will be taking a closer at the sporty cruiser that Lexus have built for cool executives who like to take the coast road to work.

It’s amazing really that this car first hit the shows in Paris 2000, but even then it was not greeted as being a classic in the making, to many people the SC430 is merely rebadged Toyota Soarer, but that is not entirely true. The SC430 uses the 4.3 litre V8 power unit with a choice of a five speed or six speed automatic gearbox, even so that is good for 288 HP and will take the car from 0-60 mph in a mere 6.2 seconds.

Standing out on this finished car are the wheels, normally the wheels fit the body, but in this case it looks as if the body has been built around the wheels, it’s all about width it seem and in order to fit a 20” x 9.5” wheel at the front the some minor work has been made to bodywork. It seems that luxury performance car can be modified and look good too, how quickly the work can be done is a matter of how your pockets are.

When Toyota brought out the Lexus range of cars, these were considered luxury vehicles designed for executives who did not want to buy a Mercedes for some reason or other. But over the years the range has expanded to take on the likes of Porsche and other high performance cars, so getting your hands on a Lexus SC430 that would be it, wouldn’t it?

For some people yes, but not everyone is satisfied with factory finishes and so they embark on a serious upgrading of the car, are they mad or just inspired? Clearly they have to be the later and for Toshiki Yoshioka upgrading the car is a matter of course.

But this in no street ride, this is a real drifting racing machine and not satisfied with having one of the coolest cars around he also has one of the best racing cars around too, a winner in the D1GP and the Formula D series, it just don’t get any better than that, or does it.
