Drag Racing’s Exhibition Attractions: From Rockets to Ramp-Jumps (Paperback)

Product Description

This book showcases photographically the wide variety of cars and drivers that fit into the exhibition theme: the jets, wheel standers, rockets and other exhibition vehicles, which have thrilled millions of spectators. Their entire basis was who had the fastest vehicle. However, in 1959 complaints from other competitors and Detroit automakers got all aircraft-powered dragsters banned, so they became the sideshow attached to the legitimate circus that is drag racing. The Green Monster became the first exhibition car exceeding 200 mph everywhere it ran. Wanting even more, Walt Arfons debuted the first jet-powered dragster, which became the desire of every fan and promoter throughout the country. At virtually the same instant, Tom Ivo had Kent Fuller build a four-engine dragster and although it was too heavy to be competitive, the tire-smoke show became arguably the most famous exhibition car in history. See Bill “Maverick” Golden and the Little Red Wagon, “Wild Bill” Shrewsberry’s and the Hurst Hemi Under Glass, LA Dart and Knott’s Berry Wagon, Chuck Poole and his Chuck wagon, Doug Rose and The Green Mamba, plus many more.

Drag Racing Funny Cars: Factory Flyers to Flip-top Fuelers (A Photo Gallery) (Paperback)

Product Description

Since the early 1960s, dealer-sponsored Super Stockers battled for supremacy on the quarter-mile and in the dealer showrooms. Evolving into the Factory Experimental class, these wild steel bodied, altered–wheelbase monsters were stuffed with massive fuel injected and supercharged engines that attracted crowds to the drag strip! Legendary pioneers “Dyno” Don Nicholson, Jack Chrisman, Bill Shrewsberry, Butch Leal, Dick Landy, Arnie Beswick, Phil Bonner, Gas Ronda, Don Gay, Sox & Martin, Richard Petty, and many other A/FX stars were instrumental in the development of the funny car as it morphed from a heavy production car into seven-second 250mph aerodynamic fibreglass, tubular chassis missile. The popularity of funny cars led “Jungle Jim” Lieberman, Bill Lawton, Lew Arrington, Bill Flynn, Norm Kraus, and “Big” John Mazmanian to become household names. Tom ”Mongoose” McEwen, Don “Snake” Prudhomme, Tom Hoover, Kenny Safford, Terry Capp, John Force, Kenny Bernstein, Jake Johnston, Larry Reyes, Richard Tharp, Roland Leong, Randy Walls, Jess Tyree, Rich Siroonian and others who achieved success racing funny cars are all featured in over 300 incredible colour and black and white photos.

Priced at $21.86

Burnout series exhaust systems consist of many catback and axle back systems for various import and domestic sports compact vehicles. Designed to be O.E. replacements, each system bolts onto the original mounting locations with uniquely designed hangers that prevent slippage. With 3.0″ catback piping, it allows for increased exhaust flow throughout the RPM range without losing too much back pressure at lower RPM. Sporty Zen style muffler features compact canister with 4.0″ muffler tip. Special sound dampening materials inside the muffler canister facilitate deep and low throaty exhaust tone and increase low end torque for street use. Made of 100% grade A stainless steel material, the burnout exhaust systems are not only attractive in appearance but they also have high durability.

Product Description Finally – A Car Cover That is Easy to Use AND Easy to STORE!

The EZCOVER is unlike any cover before it. This car cover is so easy to use you will wonder how you ever got along without it. The case allows the cover to be stored in an area that takes up less than 1.5 ft of space.

The EZ Cover Car Cover is also incredibly easy to put on your car or SUV. No more fumbling to find the front of the car cover. The front of the cover ALWAYS comes out first. Once the cover is on the car, simply store the case in the trunk with the attached string. The Reel In case allows you to keep your clothing clean while removing the cover because the cover never has to touch your clothing! Best of all the cover Reels back into the case in about 30 seconds, making storage a snap!

Fabric and Materials – The EZcover is constructed of a special high-grade polyester material that has been treated with waterproof and UV coating during the manufacturing process. These coatings keep water, dust, sun, snow, bird droppings, acid rain and industrial pollutants from penetrating the cover and therefore protecting your vehicle. This fabric was designed to be both functional and durable. The EZcover is a technologically advanced lightweight cover that can withstand the same elements as a heavier more bulky car cover. Not only is it durable but it is very soft so that it will not scratch your vehicle.

Amazing Features – Built in Grommets: EZ Cover has built in grommets on the bottom of the cover that allow cable and locks to be used to provide additional security for your car cover

Suction Cup & String: EZ Cover comes with an attached suction cup and a string that can be placed over your license plate. Once secured you can pull the cover out of the case and over the car all while

This is stunning looking car that has had a lot of time and cash spent on it, but the results are something beautiful, it could even be a work of art. It has smooth silver lines and curves, but occasionally there is the flash of red Bride seats coming through the window. Red and silver is such a great combination of colours. This is probably one of the curviest RX7’s around; it has bulges, curves and arches that blend together in perfect harmony. It really is a fantastic looking car that is capable of delivering around 345 HP at the rear wheels, which is something to think of when you have this car sitting behind at a junction. The Mazda RX7 has been and still is a great car, this one is a great example of this model that has been carefully worked at and the finished item is absolutely top notch. Engine Modification Engine 13B-REW Street Port Apexi Power FC Apexi Blow off valve Apexi Noir Exhaust Apexi GT Downpipe Apexi Grounding Kit HKS RS Intake HKS RS Reloaded Filters Fluidyne Radiator Braille Battery kit Carbing Air Diverter Panal Greddy Oil Catch Can Greddy Elbow … Continue reading →

Built for the (03 and up) Nissan 350Z… Brembo Gran Turismo Systems are excellent for stopping power in everyday traffic, as well as superior high performance street and track driving. They are designed to bolt onto the vehicles original suspension, and are fully compatible with the vehicles stock brake master cylinder and anti-lock braking system (ABS).While most Brembo Gran Turismo Brake System packages have been developed specifically to replace the vehicle s front brakes (due to the high braking demands encountered there), rear brake systems are also offered for selected applications. For vehicles not offering a Gran Turismo System for the rear axle, Brembo Sport brake rotors (slotted or drilled) are available to replace the stock rotors on the rear axle and provide a matched appearance on all four corners of the vehicle. Gran Turismo Brake Systems packages combine high performance fixed aluminium brake calipers, large diameter 1- or 2-piece vented brake rotors, brake pads, stainless steel braided brake lines and aircraft quality mounting brackets and hardware. (See photo and chart below.) Brake caliper and rotor sizes are selected based on the vehicle s requirements. In most cases, the aluminium calipers are available in red, sliver or black finishes. Additionally, the rotors feature drilled or slotted disc surfaces depending on the vehicle application and brake system selected. All cross-drilled holes are bi-angle chamfered at the rotor s outer surfaces to help reduce the cracking caused by repeated, high stress, high temperature brake applications. Gran Turismo brake discs are coated for corrosion resistance to help eliminate rust and to offer a bold, aggressive appearance to enhance the look of the vehicle s road wheels.1-Piece Drilled/Vented Rotors 2-Piece Drilled/Vented Rotors 2-Piece Slotted/Vented RotorsNotes1 – Requires minor modification to the OEM steering knuckle.2 – Requires minor modification to the OEM steering knuckle and use of included custom hub

The fabulous Nissan 350Z is a fantastic car even as it rolls off the assembly line. But for some people that is simply not enough they are going to want more from this car and as you would expect that is no problem because there is so much that can be done to make this car a racing machine to be reckoned with. Yet this is the sort of car that you would expect to find just down at the track, which is true of course, this car can often be seen ripping the track up drag meetings and time attacks. However, there is somewhere else where this 350Z can found and that is on the road, yes the owner Frank Trapani can often be seen taking this silver/grey machine on the street. The car is not quite finished currently it tops out at around 670 HP, which is good. But could there be just a little but more in there to play, the team think so and they will be looking at a 25 psi re-tune and a few other little tweaks will push this car right up to 750 HP now that is what you … Continue reading →
