So you wanna pimp car, so what do you need? Well a good start has to be a car, this can be any make or model but obviously a runner is a good idea as that means you do not have to spend all your budget on getting the thing to start otherwise no matter what it looks like if don’t run then you are not going anywhere.

Now you have your ride there some main places to visit, the tyre and wheel shop, body shop and if at all necessary the engine shop. It is probably a good idea to check out prices beforehand after all there is no point in buying a car to pimp and only having a few hundred bucks over to finish the job, you are not going to half a decent wheel with that.

Deals is what you need now, the lowest price does not mean a rubbish job in many cases it seems that the glossier the shop the higher the price. But is the work any better, maybe it is maybe it’s not there are many factors here to deal with but at the end of the day it is your car and it can be pimped up at much or as little as you want, so don’t worry about anyone else says.

Entering the annual SEMA show is giant step for some people, but entering the Scion’s Corporations, Scion Tuner Challenge Competition for the third year running this is the place to be and to compete in for any serious Scion player.

One team that has been there before is the Team Koshak/aLL STaR Scion xD and this is the XD that has been there and done that all before, each team has a mediocre budget of $15,000 which may seem to be a lot, but when you are building up a championship winning car that sort of cash goes really fast.

Apart from the obvious roof chopping of the roof, Scions can seem to be slightly boxy in shape. However, with imagination this car build is going to blow the minds of the judges surely! As it happens the Team Koshak/aLL STaR Scion xD came in second to the previous champions Team Hybrid.

I have to admit that out of all that cars that we write about and feature on this site the Nissan 350Z is my favourite. I know that there are those that do not think that this is a supercar, but you only have to look at the image to realise that this is a brilliant car and just happens to be bullet proof too.

This particular Nissan 350Z has had some extensive work done on it as you will be able to make out from the specs below but it still carries the shape of the original car and that is what matters to fans, who have not quite summoned up enough courage to go out and buy for themselves.

The great looking 1994 Nissan 240SX from Dennis Som

Could this be the coolest Nissan 240SX in the country if not the world? If it isn’t then we would like to see the car that beats this wonderful machine from Dennis Som. As you plainly see the car is a convertible, but that is no ordinary hood on there because it is the Tsunami Silvia hood one of only two in the US made by DDrug.

Ordinarily the colour would not be top of the list for build, either as it is just too orange, but the longer that you at the car the better the body work looks. This is an orange machine that people like, if this colour was on a Neon or something similar the driver would be laughed at.

Naturally, this sort of job does not come cheap and it is fortunate that the owner has managed to get a nice amount of sponsors behind him, which is always going to help when you are planning to get a car to this sort of level.

A collaboration is always going to produce something spectacular and this Scion XD is definitely some sort of super car that looks as if it has been factory made, but of course, we all know what a Scion XD looks like before the work has been done.

This car has been built by Team Koshak and All Star, this was originally designed for the SEMA 2008 show, the most prominent thing about the car is the roof, or rather the lack of one. This is something really makes a car stand from the rest and the way that this has been done is for impact, which they have achieved.

The colour green features heavily on this car and even as you inside there is a splash of Samari Green greets you in the centre console. This colour is themed all around the car with touches of carefully placed paint to highlight the colour throughout the entire project.

Chopped top – made the car into a speedster / convertible: Chopped off the roof, a-b-c pillar from around the doors, rear deck lid and wing, Re-enforced the body with a custom 6pt Unique Fabrication roll cage

The cool silver Subaru WRX (2003)

These Subaru’s are great little cars get the right one and you could be hitting 150 mph with problem at all, apart from the cops with speed guns but that is just an occupational hazard. Anyway, by all accounts this car from the images does look like anything has been done to it. Sure, there are the odd cosmetic touches here and there, but to the average man or woman in the street this is simply a Subaru WRX from 2003.

Yet under the hood there are a few surprises like the IHI VF39 Turbo, STi Top Mount Intercooler, DeatschWerks 565cc Injectors and Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump, it that does not get you going then I am afraid that nothing is likely to get you going. We like cars like this one, a wolf in sheep’s clothing is probably the most appropriate words that we could put to this car, do not be fooled by what you first see, this car means business.

To at this car you are going to think that there is a lot going on and to a certain extent that would be true, but this car without all of the paintwork, modifications and the cool looking wheels would just be another Honda used to get to work and back. This car is so much more than that and the vision that has brought this project into existence is pure genius.

It is the paint job that you first see, and there is nothing wrong with that, because initially the body looks messy with too much going on, it is only when we get focused that the colours come out and the images are there to be discovered. Great looking G35 Coupe

Before we start, I have to admit that this is one of my favourite cars, even before anything has been done to it this car is a super car that is totally awesome in almost every single way. In that case, this is a great car before it has been touched, but this one has been touched and therefore does that make it better? Of course it does no G35 fan would turn their back on a on a car like this.

The bodywork is great; in fact, it looks as if there has only been minimal amounts of work done on this car, such as a roof wing, side skirts and front bumper. One nice touch is the wing mirror covers, these have carbon fibre covers, but even better than that is the roof section, that has been made by hand from carbon fibre too.

This is car that almost looks like a prototype or even a concept car that you would see at a car show, but it is just the result of a well thought out plan, a lot of hard work and of course the one factor that ties all modified cars, a fair amount of cash!

A brilliant and bright Nissan Skyline

This is car that crowds tend to flock around, the Nissan Skyline is at the top of its game before it even leaves the factory, but this is drifter’s machine that only a few years ago was a standard car that was until Tiffany got her hands on it, yes, this car is the result of a girl drifter. Nothing wrong with that is there?

She created this car from scratch, it is not a build that just looks good either, this has been designed to drift and although she does not compete in competitions, she is currently fine tuning her skills and will eventually get onto the drifting circuit, then this car will be noticed.

It is the colour is taken from a famous Japanese drifting car, but it is the Vertex bodywork that makes this car stand out, even more than the yellow colour. Under the body is car quite capable of producing just under four hundred HP. Now there is a lot that can be done with that sort of power.

This is finished project now, and Tiffany is enjoying her ride, hopefully seeing how extreme drifting can help a driver to be first past the post. Whatever she is doing, this is a good job with the Nissan Skyline proving that a good car can be made into a great car.

OBX Precision Adjustable Cam Sprockets are a wonderful method of extracting extra power from an engine. Adjustable +/- 10 degrees, these sprockets allow the user to tune the engine for more power in low, middle or upper RPM ranges. This adjustment allows the tuner to move the peak power along the engines natural power band by advancing or retarding the cam timing.

CAD designed and CNC machined from 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminium, the adjustable cam sprockets are extremely lightweight yet able to withstand extreme abuse. The hard baked gear teeth prevent wear and tear and our advanced 5 point locking design keep belt slippage from occurring.
