All Evos use the same 2.0 litre engine with a choice of either s five or six speed manual gearbox, but it is what can be done with the engine that is so impressive. Therefore, as the car pulls out of the factory you can expect to be receiving around 200 HP, but with some fine tuning this can easily be increased to over 400 HP and that is seriously impressive by any accounts.

Under the hood of this modified car there are plenty of branded parts, you can see Greddy, AMS and NX straight away and this stuff apart from being costly means business. This is not tinkering by anyone’s standards, this is building the car from factory specs to import builder perfection, which is the aim of the project, to build the best car around and this Evo 8 is easily there.

This car may be finished in black on yellow, but you should not hold that against it, colours are subjective to say the least and mean nothing. Performance is key here and despite the fact that there are no figure for the car, you can make a guess that they are not getting 200 HP out of this baby. If we had to guess this is getting closer to the perfect 400 HP and why not, it has the look and therefore should have what it takes too!

The Evolution 8 was launched in 2003 and although from the outside there are only subtle changes, the eighth evolution had some serious modifications to the brakes, suspension, electrics and not to mention the work done on the 2.0 litre four cylinder turbo charged engine. This engine provides around 230 HP, although with this kind of set up the sky it the limit to how much power the driver wants under their foot.

But the great thing about this car is that it can be modified fairly easily the only real limitation is budget, you can literally spend as much or as little as you need to in order to achieve the desired effect and this is what make the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution a true import builders dream machine. As this one is a fine example of what you can do, without going over the top with excessive body panels and bright paint jobs.

This smart looking Evo 8, is tidy and clean, with most of the work being done on the inside and in particular under the hood, where it can now achieve a very respectable 270 HP. This is due to the addition of Injen, HKS, Waverac and of course we must not forget those all import NGK’s, no car should be seen without these! However, we will stick to the plain old Mitsubishi Eclipse, it has been in production for an impressive twenty one years and the version we are looking today is the second generation model. This came with either a 2.0 litre or the 2.4 litre in line four cylinder engines and coupled with a choice of a four speed auto or five speed manual gearbox. Nevertheless, even more impressive was the choice of trim and model, in total there were fourteen choices to make.

At the base level this car would be producing around 140 HP, but as the standard moved up so did the power output, with the top of the range offering around 210 HP. So what do have here, the FTO is front wheel drive, front engined, two doored coupe and was powered by  1.8 litre or the preferable 2.0 litre V6 with a four or five speed auto or five speed manual gearbox. The power ranged from 123 HP to around 197 HP, this is nothing to get too excited about but there is potential there for something special and this is where the import builder steps in to save the car.

This particular model is the 1995 version, so it is just into the production run and happens to be the better 2.0 litre V6 powered model too! However, even with some serious additions and swaps under the hood, this car is still only offering the driver around 200 HP and this can be a little disappointing from a V6 powered car. However, this car does have the edge when it comes to body styling, it may be white but that adds to the coolness.

Most of the work of this version of the FTO has taken place under the hood, but luckily, the builder has also made some changes to the exterior too, otherwise there would not be too much for the car fan to see and this car is a delight to look at. Maybe it is white colour or just that huge rear spoiler, but whatever the reason this car has been out of production for eleven years and only cars such as this one will keep it going.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a front engine and front wheel drive car, so despite having all of the power drifting is going to be out of the question, which might have been a waste of the 200+, HP pulling power that the standard car has to offer. However, to an import builder this is car with some serious potential and therefore simply has to be built to the extreme, which actually works with the Eclipse.

There is something about a silver car that makes it stand it; the colour blends in nicely with the polished steel wheels, highly polished engine parts and the additional silver coloured parts. However, this car has more to offer with a serious Bomex four piece body kit, which is not aerodynamic by any means and yet it just looks very cool simply because of the bulges that the kit has created.

The Mitsubishi 3000GT may have started off as the Mitsubishi GTO but whatever they call it this is a very interesting machine with an even more interesting background. The Mitsubishi 3000GT or GTO has been with us since the early nineties and with some minor changes only, this car is more or less the same car over its ten year production run, which is quite extraordinary for time when car production was at its height.

There are four versions of the three litre engine, the 6G72 3.0 L V6 (160 HP), SOHC 12v (221 HP), DOHC 24v (276 HP) and last but not least the DOHC 24v twin-turbo (319 HP). The attraction to this car is obvious, it has the looks, style, power and an iconic GTO name, which the company dropped because of the connection with Ferrari and Pontiac, Mitsubishi, needed this car to be become a standalone sports coupe, which of course it has become.
