When Nissan redesigned the 240 SX the transition from S13 to S14 was a complete change of direction and it split the fan base. For there were those that liked the sporty coupe style of S13 with is pointed front end etc, but the S14 while appearing to be a step back in time, actually offered the import builder a brilliant opportunity on plate. For this is a car that has been designed to be modified, in fact try finding one today that has not been modified in any way.
By the time this car rolled off the production line in the Nissan plant at Kyūshū, Japan, the series was already in a state of slowing down in fact the following year production of the Nissan 240 SX S14 halted for good. This would have been a dark day for fans of this range and yet because it was the end of the line for the range. However, that did not mean the car would fade away quite the contrary the S14 is more popular today than ever.
