But for some builders the challenge is making something better, it could be argued how can make the near perfect G35 better, well that is the challenge and by looks of the results it seems that the import builder has done the impossible and that is make something great into something greater!

On the outside the bodywork has been dominated by a wide body kit that gives the car a slightly different look than the original body work did, this means that larger wheels and tyres could be introduced and these just add to the look of this interesting machine as it develops.

It is the work of Kathryn Tanaka and it has to be said that with this third build she has really come up with a winner. This is a drifting car and as result of some intense driving the car apparently needed some touch ups here and there, so why not go all the way and create a new car instead, that is what has been done here for third time.

However, it has not been all cosmetic, for a modification means, just that and some serious changes have taken place under the hood. For instance, the S13 SR20DET Red Top has been upgraded with a Megan Racing stainless steel exhaust and a GReddy M spec front mounted intercooler has been fitted behind the impressive type X front bumper.

Never the less it is still hard to believe that this is a car that is twenty years old, one of the original series one S13’s sporting the 2.4 litre engine offering around 140 HP with a choice of a four speed auto or a five speed manual gearbox. we can only guess at what this car is producing in the power department, but we can be sure that it is a lot more than the standard road model!

This fantastic car has been developed as part of a joint effort between, Nissan, NISMO, Nova Engineering and Nordring in Japan, however as Nissan and the Japanese like to keep things to themselves, this car is currently only available in Japan and only to members of the Prestige Club of GT-R.

This particular model comes from 1996, so it is an early version of this popular car, but it is so cool in grey with extensive body panels and mouldings added to the car, it is not the same car that rolled off the Tochigi assembly line in Japan and that it how it should be as import tuning is all about producing something special, which this car is.

There are a few noticeable additions to the body, but unlike some builds that go over the top these modifications are subtle and not only do a great job in directing the airflow, they give the bodywork a certain style, which is great.

But this is a car that is more than just what the finished car looks like, this is a true thoroughbred in performance and with almost every part being replaced by something new and we are assuming better, this makes the car completely different to anything else we have seen.

The car has been finished off in a classic Nissan style red paint job. However, unlike any production model, this is a car that delivers around 406 HP and that has some serious power for a car of this size and weight, yet this is a road going vehicle.

The beauty of these new GT-R’s is that almost anyone can get behind the wheel and become a serious racer with little or no training at all, this is both a great testament to the build and pretty scary too.

The brilliant Nissan 240 SX S14was unveiled in 1994 and first on sale the following year, it was a different direction from the S13 model as that convertible and hatch back versions were phased out during the design stages. This means the Nissan has one car, one body style and one really cool car ideal for import builders to get their hands on.

The S14 was all about refinements and not in the way that would make the car into a luxury sedan, these refinements were to make the care sleeker, lighter and much faster. In fact getting 300 HP out of this car is a piece of cake, taking up to 450 HP as this is, take a lot more work and specific skills and clearly the team behind this car are very skilful and talented.

The car has managed to keep its shape and style, but sits like a heavy tiger waiting pounce and with 450 HP at the driver’s disposal that is not going to be too difficult at all. The car still uses the 2.4 litre inline engine but this one has come straight of a Nissan Skyline GTR.

The Nissan 240 SX S13 originally came with different body styles the two door coupe, three door coupe and the two door convertible. But unlike many other cars of the same style, the revised model sold between 1991 and 1994 only cam with one engine choice the 2.4 litre SOHC, later DOHC knocking out about 115 HP.

Of course, the engine had to go and has been replaced with a GT3971 top mount turbo; this is well capable to producing around 434 HP on fuel alone. The engine is where most of the actions appears to have taken place, although painting the body in that bright orange is a signal to all other builders that this car is the business.

It is hard to comprehend what could possibly be under the body of this car it is a true monster, but a nice looking monster at that, no nice does not cut it, this is a super monster car with a beautiful body that defies all logic, but it is something that will put on a good show.

This is a project that only the big boys could, a privateer would struggle to come up with all the necessary car parts and work that is needed to get the project from the planning stages to that wonderful time when the driver puts the key in the ignition and cranks it up.

Specs of the Switzer built Nissan GTR with 800 HP:

“The client had some pretty clear goals with this car.” explains Tym, “This GTR couldn’t be track day special that would deafen you out on public roads. The client was looking for a car that he and his wife could drive out 2 or 3 hours to the track in reasonable comfort, fill it up with pump gas, set killer times lap after lap after lap, and drive to a nice dinner afterwards without issue. Basically, it’s a race car with climate and cruise controls, and that’s kind of a lot to ask!”

The Switzer crew set to work on the Super Silver 2010 GTR, starting with the company’s proven P800 kit, which replaces the car’s intercoolers, intakes, and turbochargers with Switzer components that bump the GTR-engine to 800 hp and almost 700 lb-ft of torque … but didn’t stop there. “Adding 300 more horsepower the car obviously helped its power-to-weight,” Tym adds, “but more importantly none of the components in our P800 package and our new cooling package, which this car also has, are any heavier than stock. When we built the kit originally we didn’t want to make the car any heavier than it already was, and with this car in particular we wanted to reduce the weight as much as we could, without sacrificing the ‘GT’ aspect of the GTR.”

To that end, Switzer fitted featherweight carbon rotors from AP, which cut a significant amount of unsprung weight (the enemy of handling) and rotating mass (the enemy of acceleration) from each corner of the GTR, while improving fade resistance. Application-specific pads, high-temperature brake fluid (AP), and stainless steel braided brake lines round out the brake package with improved pedal feel and increase stopping power.

Weight was also cut with the addition of a lightweight (ceramic-coated) titanium exhaust system, dry-carbon deck lid, and lightweight sports seats from Bride. “We chose these seats because of their adjustability. You can be comfortable, still get to the back seat, and it is not an extreme one-piece seat that is not comfortable on the highway. They fit the project goal perfectly.”

The car has kept its original styling on the outside with on the boot spoiler and those fantastic looking Nismo Racing Alloys in pure white blend in nicely with the dark bodywork and that is even though it would seem that they would be in complete contrast.

Inside it is a different matter; there are plenty of new additions, such as the panel of gauges and one larger gauge that surround the dash board. Apart from all of that, this is a sound car, the only thing that is a slight problem is the transporting of the car from Japan to the USA.

Agency Power Adj. Twin Blow Off Valves Nissan GT-R 09+

One important facet on turbo charged vehicles is the factory blow off valve also known as the recirculation valve. Because the Nissan GT-R features a twin turbo setup, there is 1 blow off valve on each intercooler pipe. With stock recirc valves, they relieve the pressure from the intercooler pipe back into the intake pipe, which then goes into the turbo causing turbulence. This slows down the turbo spool up between shifts. However running an aftermarket blow off valve at a 100% atmosphere can cause MAF issues because there is no air being metered back. For modified cars running higher boost pressure, factory recirc valves can also leak boost from the OEM design at higher RPMs. Agency Power’s blow off valves have been proven successful on many other vehicle applications with each holding up to 30psi of boost. With its adjustability knob on top to dial in your spring tension, the CNC machined 6061 aluminium component can be setup to run either 100% atmosphere or 50/50 for best performance. With the 50/50 setup, the blow off valves will still dump air back into the intake, but most will vent to atmosphere giving you that swoosh sound and keeping the turbos spooled between shifts. The anodized body with laser engraved Agency Power name includes a bolt on flange to mount the blow off valve on the stock or aftermarket intercooler piping. The Nissan 240SX is the sort of baby brother of the more famous and very powerful Nissan Skyline GT-R, yet both of these cars have a pedigree that runs as long as many of the other performance cars around, in some cases the Nissan history is longer and in some cases more interesting than some other brands.

But this is about this fantastic looking Nissan 240SX originally built during 1996 and even though the car has gone through being stripped down and almost completely rebuilt from scratch to look almost identical to what it would have looked like as it rolled off the production line and into the arms of its first owner.

Of course, this is car that has got a pedigree of its own or rather the builders have, Louie Lui and Tony Wei, the two most luckiest guys in the import building world. It is true that the Nissan 370Z is a one hell of a car; I do not care much for the convertible, as the fixed head coupe is more of a racers car than the convertible, which is a bit of poser’s car on the quiet and why not if you have got it then why not flaunt it.

The background of the cars history is somewhat sketchy, it goes something like this, man buys girl a car, girl says thanks and dumps guy and the car ends up on eBay at a knocked down price. If I were a suspicious guy I would think that something was up there, but that is just me I suppose.

The colour is a sort of blue to purple mix, unless the images do not put it across that good! What the colour is, it actually suits the cars body styling that is one thing about the Nissan 300 ZX and that is there is plenty of metal to be painted, so long as the colours are not too over the top.

Despite there clearly being a lot of work being done on this car, they have not ruined it by adding too panels, fins and spoilers the Nissans body is smoothed out with any protruding edges removed giving the car curvy lines instead of the lumps and bumps that you do often see at shows and events.

Agency Power Adj. Twin Blow Off Valves Nissan GT-R 09+

One important facet on turbo charged vehicles is the factory blow off valve also known as the recirculation valve. Because the Nissan GT-R features a twin turbo setup, there is one blow off valve on each intercooler pipe. With stock recirc valves, they relieve the pressure from the intercooler pipe back into the intake pipe, which then goes into the turbo causing turbulence. This slows down the turbo spool up between shifts. However running an aftermarket blow off valve at a 100% atmosphere can cause MAF issues because there is no air being metered back. For modified cars running higher boost pressure, factory recirc valves can also leak boost from the OEM design at higher RPMs. Agency Power’s blow off valves have been proven successful on many other vehicle applications with each holding up to 30psi of boost. With its adjustability knob on top to dial in your spring tension, the CNC machined 6061 aluminium component can be setup to run either 100% atmosphere or 50/50 for best performance. With the 50/50 setup, the blow off valves will still dump air back into the intake, but most will vent to atmosphere giving you that swoosh sound and keeping the turbos spooled between shifts. The anodized body with laser engraved Agency Power name includes a bolt on flange to mount the blow off valve on the stock or aftermarket intercooler piping. So not only does is in the middle of all of those Nissan R33’s that looks either a end of production line party or the day that every R33 owner came to town to party and brought some of those GT-R cousins too just for the laugh.

To make thing even more difficult for us mere mortals along came a few Nissan GTS’s both two and four door versions, this must have been one of the best nights of the year so far. The atmosphere must have been electric with all of that rubber and highly polished Volk Racing wheels. Not only that, the car has been finished off in brilliant white, even though the actual colour is supposed to be something called battleship grey, which sounds like it could be a primer of something. Just to match things up the wheels have been coloured coordinated what really brings the whole together as one package.

I love the drifting image with the hood missing it has a sort of arty feel to it that means that it has either been removed or the driver lost it somewhere around the track, hopefully for the team that hood was still there otherwise it’s another couple hundred bucks to fork out for.

Built for the (89-94) Nissan 180SX… Alex Pfeiffer’s Battle Version lightweight toe rods are much stronger than stock and are built not only to withstand the forces of road racing on R-compound tires but also drifting on rough roads. These toe rods are fully adjustable and feature heim joints for the ultimate in vehicle control. For the rod ends, it is a misconception that all heim joint/rod ends make noise or that you need to have to grease it and such. That is not the case. There are different types of heim joints/rod ends that you can purchase for different applications. Most of the ones that do make noise are designed for machinery applications and not automotive/racing applications. Given they still fit and can handle the same load capacities, you shouldn’t use them on your car. If it comes with a grease nipple on it, that’s usually your first indication you shouldn’t use it. The rod ends that Battle Version uses are a 3 piece design with a Teflon injected liner. There are a couple benefits to using a Teflon injected liner in that they are self lubricating which means you don’t need to grease or maintain them (adding grease or a rubber boot will cause water or dirt particles to stay or get trapped in the rod end and wear out the liner quicker). Second is that the liner acts as a separator between the race and housing of the bearing. A normal heim/rod end will have a bit of play between the race and the housing. That play will cause the bearing to make noise or clunk as it is hitting metal to metal. This is the sound most people refer to when they say heim joint/rod end suspension causes the car to be noisy. But that is not the case with the injected liner as it takes up that play and doesn’t allow metal to metal contact.
