Amazing 2003 Nissan 350z

One of the favourite cars for modification has to be the fantastic Nissan 350Z; this is a car with a history despite only arriving on the scene in 2003, which incidentally is the same model that we are featuring today. Back to the 350Z though its pedigree can be directly traced back to the early 1970’s and the famous Datsun 240Z, which at the time was a serious sports car and gained the attention of builders even back then, when it was not PC to drive Japanese.

The Nissan 350Z, naturally comes with a 3.5 litre V6 engine, the production would have been producing around 287 HP and there would have been a choice of a five speed auto or six speed manual gearbox. In short, this car has been designed to tap into the sports car market, with a car that is stylish and has the Nissan culture of quality and reliability that consumers demand.

This particular model, has been carefully thought out, it takes the best of everything available on the market and combined with some hard work and plenty of time, this has produced one of the best looking cars on the scene. Even though this is an early version of the 350Z it can easily hold its own with almost any other modified Nissan out there at the time and probably still can, it is that good.

I love the way that this build has managed to leave the engine alone but by adding a nice NOS system and AEM intake system, this has given the car that little bit extra under the foot! Where this car comes out on top is in its style and design, check out the list of exterior and interior modifications, it is clear that the builder he was going for impact over performance, but you know what they have achieved both!

Modified Nissan 350Z Racing Machine

There are several types of import builder; we have covered most of them as they usually offer stunning looking cars that are designed to win events on looks alone. There are also the performance based designs that may look as good but these are not the sort of cars that you would want to have pull up next to you at the lights, especially when your girl friend is sitting next to you!

However, here we have something completely different, it is by that established builder firm, Enjuku Racing who have been doing the rounds on the Formula D and NOPI Drift competitions using mainly modified versions of the Nissan 240SX. However, this car is a step up from the normal, for the first time Enjuku have taken the Nissan 350Z and by adding their creative flair; the Nissan 350Z drifting machine has been born.

As it stands the 350Z as the number indicates is powered by the 3.5 litre V6 engine capable of producing in excess of 310 HP straight from the factory, which is some serious power. However, once all of the luxuries have been stripped out and a supercharger added to the already powerful engine, you are looking at around 380 HP in a car that has lost half its bodyweight, now you are talking about a car made for drifting.

When this car was on display at the SEMA event, it was clearly the best looking car around and that is with that huge rear spoiler sticking around two feet off the boot lid. Nevertheless, with this the car would literally fly for a few seconds, which is great but not recommended. With a light car and masses of power it is the bodywork that keeps the car in contact with the road, BRS AutoDesigns appear to have come up with the goods here.

The Nissan 350Z may be the modern two seater sports car that we have all come to love, but this is a car with a heritage. In fact, if you really want to trace it back into the past you end up with the classic Datsun 240Z, which is a car that you do not see that often these days and that is a real shame. However, it is because of these early cars that we end up with the fantastic Nissan 350Z that we see before us.

Naturally, not all of us have the resources that builders like Donlyson Auto Concepts have, but it is their business after all and they have access to all of the skills and products that many of import builder fans could only dream of. However we do get to see and admire the end results of the work put into these cars and with each project being different you just never know exactly what you are going to find.

Traditionally the Nissan 350Z would have been delivered with a classic 3.5 litre V6 producing up to 306 HP through either a five speed auto or six speed manual gearbox. Although some builders have been known to drop a 4.5 litre V8 power unit into the car, this project has kept the original engine and worked with that to produce this powerful yet very beautiful version of the Nissan 350Z.

All of the work on this car has been carried by Donlyson Auto Concepts, the list is very long indeed, with almost anything that can be upgraded under the hood, and the body having been done there is hardly any room for improvement for this car. Could this be one of the best Nissan 350Z’s around! Who knows, all we can say is that this car is a contender and well deserved it is too!

Nissan 350Z Ready For Action

Just by looking at this beautiful car, you know that it means business, there is something about the way it sits that tells you this is a hot car and not just in looks either. This is a modified car, but from the outside you would hardly know it as the exterior work has been done in such a way that from the untrained eye this is a car that is the same now as it was when it rolled off the production line.

Inside the design has taken on a completely different style altogether, the layout has been specifically tailored to the need of the driver, passengers always come second in a proper build and that is the case with the project. Everything has been taken care of, right down to the Nismo style gear shift, these little touches always make a cool addition to the build, subtle but totally in keeping with the style and design.

Unlike many builds, the team behind this car decided early on that the stock 3.5 litre VQ power plant would stay, which is great as a 350Z wouldn’t be the same without the sound of this fantastic engine pulling it along. Although that does not mean everything has been left as it was, there have been some calculated exchanges made to help the engine with some extra power no matter how little the advantage is.

This is a car that is not just a star but has a star of sorts behind the wheel too, Tyson Beckford has appeared in roles on the small and big screen, and it is not that often that we have to choose between either the star or the car, but obviously it’s going to be the car.

Nissan 350Z in Bright Yellow

Ordinarily a bright yellow car no matter how good it is would be a subject of ridicule from many angles, but this is a Nissan 350Z and so there are no funny jokes or comparison with items that are remotely associated with cars or motoring in any shape or form.

This car is stunning with bodywork looking stunning against the deep black colour of the wheels that allow a tiny piece of the red brake callipers, there is always something special when you can see the braking system of a car.

The lines are almost the same as they would have been when the car first came out of the factory, but with a few simple little changes that ease the eye over the body.

Of course the 350Z is superior car in every way to many other cars on the road, it has style, grace and of course power. In fact the car provides up to 450 HP or 600 HP with gas, the quarter mile will take around 3 seconds, while 0 to 60 mph will take it just 3.6 seconds.

Super cool Nissan 350Z

The main image say it all really, three picture showing all of the aspects of the car. It is really a nice piece of work in every aspect and yet from the outside there is little to show that this is a car that is red hot, apart from the ice cool blue flames that run down the sides of the car that is.

Even the engine has not had too much done to it, in fact this is a car that is virtually as it left the factory, but that was over five years ago, so whatever the owner, Ken Axalson is doing it must be right. The great thing about this car is that it is roadworthy, but on a race day, it will be a different matter.

OK there are some serious wheels on the 350Z, Dante Designs Cragar five spoke chrome wheels, with some nice Yokohama tyres wrapped around those chrome babies! All in all this means that this Nissan is a great looking machine and well worth mention.

Secret Weapon Intake (Nissan | 350Z | 03-06)

Product Description – The air filter can be totally taken apart and cleaned. The foam is denser and more thicker than the Dragon filter.

The velocity stank inside the air filter is a TRUE VELOCITY STACK. The Air filter has Ram Air capability, by hooking up the hose to the top of the air filter.

Great looking Nissan 350Z

You know it by now, that the Nissan 350Z is one my favourite cars and yet we have not seen any decent models recently until this one popped up out of nowhere. It is a cool silver version with appropriately themed blue flames along the sides and over the hood.

A nice touch are the chrome Dante Designs Cragar five spoke wheels this offsets the silver colour and draws your eye along the length of the car. The body is neatly bulged in the right places, and yes you can see why people refer to cars as being female, this car is confirms that.

The Nissan 350Z has a huge 3.5 litre V6 motor under the hood, this has been chromed in the right places and where that is not suitable, and stainless steel has been used. This is seriously cool car; literally, the colours chosen in the design of this car is cool in colour and cool by design.

The 350Z is one of the coolest Nissans ever produced; it has the lines and performance that we would expect to be getting from a Porsche or some other high performance car. However, this is a Nissan, should they really be even making cars such as this?

Well of course, the things have changed over at Nissan dramatically; in fact, this has been occurring throughout the entire automobile industry, until recently that is.

The great Nissan 350Z is back here again, it seems that we just cannot get enough of these fast machines from Japan and this one is no different it has a few modifications, well okay quite a few modifications. However, most of them appear to be out of sight under the hood and inside the car, which by the way is a bit of a dream.

It would easier to say what hasn’t been done on this car, rather going through what has been changed. there are some serious pieces of hardware under the hood like the fantastic Garrett Single Turbo, that in itself tells you that this car has performance written all over it, in fact maybe it’s the 403 hp that does to job, what do you think?
