The Supra comes with a 3.0 litre inline six cylinder engine the basic version of which would be producing around 220 HP, but with an engine such as this, there is plenty of scope for more power to be built in, such as the twin turbo option run in sequential mode. Unusually Toyota offered three choices of gearbox with the Supra, a four speed auto or a five or six speed manual the gearbox choice determines the potential acceleration and of course top speed.

This version of the Supra has been finished to a very high standard and yet appearances can be very deceptive. For this is car that harnesses all of the power that has been built into it and is able to precisely launching the car from a standing start to speed heaven. It is a very deceptive car, but at the end of the day this is rear wheel drive twin turbo powered car with the auto gearbox switched to six speed manual, speed and power should be its middle names.

I like the way that this car sits or stands, it looks menacing almost as if it has a life of its own, it absolutely oozes power and performance, which not be a surprise considering that almost every important part and some not so important parts have been upgraded to something more purposeful and fitting the status of this car. Is this one of the best Supra’s around? Of course, it is unless anyone else has any better ideas!

Initially the production was powered by the standard 3.0 litre inline six cylinder engine, which actually dates back to the mark two Celica Supra that first hit the streets in 1981! Clearly, there have been factory modifications made to this classic power plant, but basically, it is the same engine that has appeared under the hood in three of the four models from the Supra series spanning thirty years.

With all of that history, this car was and still is a classic it is desired by many import builders who can see the potential in producing something very special indeed and that is exactly what has occurred with this beautiful looking Supra. However, it would be until the mid nineties, this model appeared; the Mark IV has everything that a driver needs. it has the looks of a sporty car with a decent three litre engine in the front with the pulling power of around between 220 HP and 320 HP, there is even a four speed automatic gearbox available for those who want smooth acceleration up to its 155 mph top speed.

There are two body styles to choose from, a cool Targa top or as with the one in the images a fixed head body style. For many builders and fans, the later would be the body of choice, because with the Targa with the roof open it is going to create a different sort of drag on the body and therefore slow the car down, which simply will not do.

It is hard to work out where this car is from, it is right hand drive, so it could be a home grown Japanese build, the backgrounds do not look light Japan, and it seems more European. Even with a weird paint job that makes the car stand out for mile, actually after a few times of looking at it, the paint job grows on you and it appears to match the style of the car and what it represents, the cutting edge of production sports cars. In fact, if it were not for the Celica and the Supra there would not be other production sports cars.

The Supra here has been modified a little, with some transmission and suspension upgrades, while under the hood major work taken place with a new turbo and intakes replacing the older equipment that must have been feeling worse for wear. Cooling the engine is essential to good performance so upgrades have improved the cooling of this hot engined car.

Bodily there are little clues that someone has been carefully making this car better than brand new, but these subtle changes such as the front bumper, tail lights, turn signals and side markers come from later models, but only a complete Supra expert would know about that.

The worrying thing about this car is that there are plans to improve this almost perfect design, the owner intends to change the hood to a more meaty looking vented version, upgrade the drive shaft, add a Tein Flex coilover and Virtual intake manifold, with this final touch being some nice Recarro seats.

It has to be said, that once these final touches have been completed, it would seem that this Toyota Supra could be one of the best cars of its kind around at the moment. Of course, there may be another project on the horizon, but this one has the edge being almost completed and ready to hit the show circuit or maybe it will just end up being a road car, it would look nice in the supermarket car park!

You look at this is image and see the car that was made famous in the Nicolas Cage movie, Gone In Sixty Seconds, yet it if you at it very closely and of course know what you are looking for then you will notice there are some slight issues with the car.

So what is it, in fact this is the ultimate import build, it is a Toyota Supra from around 1998, but it has been modified to such an extent that the car has taken on the appearance of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Eleanor dating from 1967!

You can still see the Supras curves within the design, but this is a good exercise in how far a build can go, this is the work of a group of students from Saitama University, who are naturally studying on the college’s automotive course and of course have developed something very special.

The donor car for this transformation is the fourth generation version of the Supra; this would have had the standard 3.0 litre engine with a choice of five or six speed manual and a smooth four speed auto gearbox. The car would have been delivering around 300 HP, but with all of those panels on board it is hardly going to matter!

This very stylish car, has plenty of additions under the bonnet too, with like the Garrett turbine, HKS camshafts and twin power ignition kit. However, it would probably be a lot easier to explain what has not been changed on this car, as the actual list is almost endless.

The Supra is powered by a 3.0 litre engine, with a choice of the 4 speed auto, 5 speed and 6 speed manual gearbox. The turbo version of the car is well capable of producing around 320 HP and reaching a top speed of around 177 mph.

There is no doubt that this is a car that could be a contender for one of the best of its kind and why not for it’s is a car that even when it was produced and first hit the roads was a car to be reckoned with. Therefore, we can only imagine the performance that is available to the driver of this car.

The Toyota Supra MK IV was available between 1993 and 1998 in the US and sported the fantastic 3.0 Litre power plant coupled with a choice of a four speed auto, five speed manual and six speed manual. However, these cars were only producing between 220 HP and 320 HP, which at the time was great.

The car came with two types of 3.0 litre engine the turbo version being easily capable of producing over 320 HP and reaching 60 mph from zero in under 4.6 seconds. So modify a car such as this takes a lot of planning and guts because it already has the capacity to touch 174 MPH, a modification will make it faster and reach a faster top speed.

So now, we are looking at this early version of the Toyota Supra from 1994 and yet it has the appearance of a car that has been in mothballs for ten years or so.
