The Honda Accord is one of those wonderful cars that can be everything to everybody; it is a car that can sit in the drive of an older couple who use it just at the weekend. While at the same time, it can be the pride and joy of the single guy who likes something a sporty with a pedigree name. The Honda brand has all of this and this Accord from 1995 shows that there is another side to the Honda story.
This model is the two door sports coupe, the car uses the famous 2.2 litre VTEC engine, which is good for delivering up to 200 HP, and this is what makes the car so exciting. It looks similar to the sedan version only with two doors and the engine is more or less the same as the standard 145 HP versions and yet this car is so much more in so many ways.
The exterior gives little away, with careful consideration being taken to keep the body looking like an Accord, most notably are the Mugen side skirts, but even these do not that much out of place. The rest of the exterior work comes in the form of new style lights on the front and back, while the hood is the spectacular Mugen carbon fibre design, which is light and yet tough at the same time.
Somehow, the mechanical arrangement of this car has been able to produce a spectacular power output of up to 400 HP, image that! This is a car that has been designed to use around 140 HP and yet this car produces over twice that amount of power and the car has been made lighter too. This is a fine example of how a family style car can be made into something more like a high performance sports car.
