It is hard to imagine now, that this Civic SI is model that Honda developed as concept car for the 2002 SEMA show and yet here it is a few years later as an established model in the Honda range. So being a former concept car means that this is a model that is ripe for modifying and it has been done very well in this case.
The main focus of this build has been on the bodywork, the sharper more visible edges have been rounded off and smoothed out to produce a more aerodynamic shape, in fact the shape of this car is more to do with looks than aerodynamics. Although both features are smooth on the eye, which is one of the points of building in the first place.
One thing that this build shows is the how simple design works as opposed to the designs that go over the top with features that have no mechanical functions but instead have been included because they have the effect of looking good on a car.
The Honda Civic SI was built in either Brazil or Canada; it came with a choice of two versions the standard 2.0 litre engine with a six speed gearbox and producing 189 HP or 197 HP. This modified Honda has a small amount of work done on the engine and can produce around 209 HP.
