It used be a popular thing to do during the eighties to make a car appear to be another brand or model and it seems that this trend has continued into the world of import building and modders, with this Mazda or Lotus being a prime example of how to make a good car look like another equally brilliant car.
It was said that Mazda drop head coupe was based on the Lotus Elan of the 1960’s and this Mazda Miata finished in the colours and style of a Lotus Elan from that time period, just goes to show exactly how close in design these two cars are.
You have to hand it to David Wooley, who has taken this fantastic Mazda and made into something beautiful that resembles the classic Lotus of the past. A lot of care and consideration has gone into this design and despite the Mazda actually keeping its modern shape; you cannot help but to take a second glance at this car.
This is a first generation model, sporting a 1.6 litre or 1.8 litre with a five speed manual or a four speed automatic gearbox.
