Nissan 350Z Performance Mods!

Today, we will show you couple different mods for tuning your Nissan 350Z to perform better and look better too.

turbokit

First off, we highly recommend saving your money for either a single-turbo or dual-turbo kit.  I know it costs a lot but this is probably the best performance upgrade for your money.

And yes, it is rather expensive for $4795 for single turbo or $8455 for dual turbos but heck, extra 200-300 horsepower is definitely worth your troubles.

GReddy has always been making some good turbo kits, you can find them here.

If you cannot afford the high tag price of turbos, we still recommend an intake and exhaust upgrade.  These are small upgrades but you can easily get your motor 20-50 extra horsepower.

nismo

For intake, try a Nismo cold air intake.  There’s regular air intakes and cold-air intakes.  The cold air intakes are much better as it comes with extension pipes so the intake filter actually sits where the incoming air meets, in front of your car.   I do not recommend a regular intake, that’s just a filter change and won’t really give you more horsepower.

For exhaust, try Injen’s performance exhaust system.  Not only does this allow your motor to breath better, they will lower your engine’s overall heat while giving you a whopping 10-20% horsepower increase.

If you can afford it, we also recommend a cat-back exhaust system.  Basically these cat-back exhaust systems fit between your motor and your exhaust system.  It’s a pipe and the upgrade will increase the diameter of your pipes, thus allowing even better breathing motor.

rollcage

Now, for safety, you can get a roll-cage for your Nissan 350Z.  These roll-cages will provide you extra insurance against any accidents.  They basically make your car “a racing car” and if you “roll” in an accident, you will most likely come out alive.

carbon

Carbon fiber hoods are great for making the Nissan 350Z look better and lighter.  These are a must if you are serious about tuning and also great for easy access to your engine.

Lowering springs are definitely recommended for better steering and suspension.  You can probably start with these Eibach springs.  Now, lowering your car will set your factory alignment off, so you will need to get these camber kits too.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend you to get a high performance shocks to accomodate your new lowering springs.  Without the shocks to match your new springs, you might experience more than desirable vibrations while driving.

There are two types of shocks, one adjustable and the other not.  The adjustable ones are great since you can adjust the car’s height and other factors such as dampness.  Get the best shocks you can since these shocks will determine how your “ride” drives on the road.

For even more suspension, you will need to get strut braces, which will balance and even out your suspension better by providing more support and structure.  There’s one for the rear and the front, so get both if you can afford it.

LSDs, or Limited Slip Differentials, will allow you to get tighter shifting powers, these are great for drifiting and highly recommended.

Also, don’t forget that brakes are more important when you start abusing your extra horsepowered import, read this post on Brembo brakes.

Well, we’ve basically covers a lot of the basics that will help you get off the ground with a Nissan 350Z.  Stay tuned as we have more vehicles coming soon.
