It is probably fair to say that in 1996 when this Nissan 240SX was built, these cars were just another Nissan and only a few enthusiasts could see the potential in the model. You only have to look at its smooth flowing lines to see that this is car with style and then there is the versatility of being able to swap things around, as there is plenty of room under the hood and inside this two door coupe.

Originally this car would have been powered the standard 2.4i litre SOHC engine that would have been good for around 140 HP, but one of the first changes in this car would have been to dump that old lump and replace it with the 2.6 litre straight six twin turbo engine from a GT-R. This is what we mean about being versatile, not all cars allow import builders to do this, but it does not just stop there, as the running gear needs upgrading too to cope with the power.

So now, this car is now a 450 HP monster and with the additional safety features such as a roll cage and door bars, there is no room for comfort. The carpets and interior trim have to go, so drivers looking for luxury motoring better think again with this car as performance will always take precedence over comfort.

The brilliant Nissan 240 SX S14was unveiled in 1994 and first on sale the following year, it was a different direction from the S13 model as that convertible and hatch back versions were phased out during the design stages. This means the Nissan has one car, one body style and one really cool car ideal for import builders to get their hands on.

The S14 was all about refinements and not in the way that would make the car into a luxury sedan, these refinements were to make the care sleeker, lighter and much faster. In fact getting 300 HP out of this car is a piece of cake, taking up to 450 HP as this is, take a lot more work and specific skills and clearly the team behind this car are very skilful and talented.

The Nissan 240SX is the sort of baby brother of the more famous and very powerful Nissan Skyline GT-R, yet both of these cars have a pedigree that runs as long as many of the other performance cars around, in some cases the Nissan history is longer and in some cases more interesting than some other brands.

But this is about this fantastic looking Nissan 240SX originally built during 1996 and even though the car has gone through being stripped down and almost completely rebuilt from scratch to look almost identical to what it would have looked like as it rolled off the production line and into the arms of its first owner.

Of course, this is car that has got a pedigree of its own or rather the builders have, Louie Lui and Tony Wei, the two most luckiest guys in the import building world. They work with these cars all of the time and get to work on a project such as this on the side if you can call it that. One thing is for sure the some guys get all of the luck all of the time!

On the outside, there are only a few touches that change the original shape, which is great because the car then is looking like it should, but inside there has a few changes that would make the original version look dated. First up there are seat rails and a full roll cage, these are essentials, but no heater or air con!

Not all people who own cars like this are mechanics, some like Jason Lusier is a car painter, an artist if you like for he is responsible for the great finish of this car, only by using the best materials and attention to the finest detail can a car end up looking like this.

The job is started with the old paintwork being stripped right back and then by using the Sherwin Williams ultra system PE990 etch primer, P30A spectra prime, S56 ultra-fill II sealer, ultra 7000 base coat, and ultra 7000 CC950 ultra-flex clear the job is underway.

Not only that, upon closer inspection it will be noticed that meticulous attention to detail has been made, virtually every screw, bolt and nut has been removed and plated in gold, along with most of the main engine parts.

Something like this does not just happen, this is a work of art that takes a lot of hard work, time and of course that old tradition with any project, plenty of cash!

Naturally there have been some additions in the engine department, but the engine itself has mainly remained as it came, which is testament to the carmakers own parts. Sure, there have been some changes like the GReddy intake manifold and Blitz Nur Spec three inch diameter exhaust.

The car sits on a set of works VS-XX wheels that are covered in Nitro NT555 tyres, all seventeen inches of them!

This car although to the fan would look great, but for the perfectionist like Jason clearly is, it is by nowhere near completed and despite having spent around $100,000 on the near perfect Silvia, there is always something that could do with the master touch and if Jason is to blitz the shows then the work is never finished.
